Bio

Daniel Tannenbaum started his career working for a payday loans company as an intern in 2010. He gained valuable experience learning about the industry, whilst sitting in on customer service, collection calls and practices and learning from different people in the marketing team.

He joined a payday lender full-time in 2012 after completing his Masters and working in a small team, was involved in all aspects of the loan process including underwriting, decision scoring, funding, customer services and collections.

After working with the lender for 3 years, Daniel became an independent consultant, specializing in the payday loans industry and has since worked with more than 10 lenders across the UK and US to help build sustainable business models and responsible lending practices.

In 2018, he founded Pheabs and has become a voice in the payday loans industry across America. The company has processed more than 3 million applications and is always working hard to provide transparency and a good customer experience.

Daniel enjoys writing guides, which you can read below, with the aim to educate customers and help them find transparent and clear information. He believes that payday loans are high-cost financial products which certainly serve a purpose and can act as an anti-poverty measure, but if used without consideration, can lead customers into more difficult financial circumstances and people should approach with caution.
